Introduction to ECO-MARK
There has been an increased concern about educating industries on environmental concerns and sustainable practices. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) established the ECO-MARK as a certification logo for products that are environmentally friendly and fulfill certain BIS standards.
The plan started in 1991 and is entirely voluntary. It assists consumers in determining more planet-friendly products. Such products include food, medications, chemicals, electrical appliances, paper, packaging materials, and lubricants, among many others, which fall under this scheme. The ECO-MARK program is managed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
The ECO-MARK logo displayed on products manufactured in India is a promise of environmental friendliness. It aims to stimulate sustainable growth among industries and consumers. A product bearing this logo represents a commitment to a cleaner and greener lifestyle.
