IS 302 Part 1 2024 sets the safety rules for many household and commercial appliances. Commercial electric hoods fall in this group. These appliances help control smoke and heat in kitchens to keep them clean. These are found in hotels, restaurants, and stores. Commercial electric hoods fall in this range. The same standard also covers some shop and light industrial tools used for catering and cleaning work. The standard does not cover appliances used by unsupervised children, medical appliances, or heavy-duty industrial appliances.
